I wanted to make a topic I thought everyone could relate to or contribute to, I figured that music was the best way to go!

You can post your Favorite Music Genre, Artists, Groups, etc.

Hmm... Good idea for a topic.

I mostly enjoy solely instrumental ones nowadays, and would very rarely listen to any vocal ones except if the voice of the vocalist really catches my attention.
I usually go with genres like classical, orchestra, jazz (swing, classic, bob), and sometimes electric, house, dance, and a little pop if it's mixed with most of the other genres I mentioned.

Following up a lot on Diverse System recently, cause they just released a number of albums and I'm still going through the songs.

How bout you Bran?

I like just about anything Japor just shy of Rap, by the way we are holding a contest tO give away free smart coins on my forum!

What is everyone else's favorite music?

I like from pop music (and oldies) from my country, the united states, Italy and japan mostly and other countries, to rock and it's variations in the aforementioned countries and a lot more, some of electronic music and some variations, dubstep, instrumentals from various types of music -my favorite instruments would be the violin and the guitar (a good musician with the guitar that I like is osamuraisan for example- , like Celtic music (Adrian von ziegler is a good composer of this genre), from emotional to dark and kinda epic and energetic music, soundtracks of movies, games and anime, I listen to some rap, few artist, I really don't know much about genres of music, I just listen to what I like, the type of music I like is sentimental, sad emotional music that gets to me, to my emotions and at the same time happy good music that brings up my spirit, then epic music  or one that brings the will to fight (like the eye of the tiger) and all the rest is music I like for the melodies-tunes that attracts me.

Relaxing music too, Adrian Von ziegler is an awesome composer that made lots of songs that I love, purely instrumental, with a celtic approach on most:

Ohh!! Hello/How are you is nice. But I prefer Ritsuka's cover. It sounds more mature, which suits my interpretation of the song.

I think I've heard that cover of A Thousand Years before. Very comfortable. The guy with the cello's pretty good.

Gone through some of the AD:Drum n' Bass 2 songs by Diverse System (the one above) and came across some pretty good ones, even though they aren't really my preferred genre. But it's nice to listen to something different every now and then.

When it comes to relaxing music i'll listen to Nujabes and you will recognize him if you ever watched " Samurai Champloo " one of his songs is what they use for introduction for this amazing anime, which is how I discovered it. My girlfriend and I would listen to his albums and relax outside for hours at a time, very nice.


As for rock then I like disturbed, rob zombie, ac dc, a few old bands from 60s and up through today not all their music but a few good singles if not a lot of songs lol. 3 other good songs I wanna share are

Quite good the music indeed =P I will post 2 other songs from the composer Adrian Von Ziegler, both celtic, for me they animate me and are emotional, the latter is quite simple but that gives some beauty to it.





Let me add a classical one I discovered some months ago and it became a favorite of mine, one of dvoraks pieces (let me say that I'm not knowledgeable on classical music, but I try from time to time to deliver a little in it) and a song from a Russian guitarist I presume, kinda unknown but this song of his is amazing!!! the sound of the guitar

A note here, this isn't the version I have, but it's the nearest performance to it, I really like the violin versions of this piece XP, more passionate and emotional in my opinion (depending on the performance).

Yep, exactly that japo, I haven't tried to enter hiding my ip, I don't remember have done it with youtube, but I already listened to that version when you posted it before and I found in another channel the same version, it's good.

I must say you gents have fine taste in music, I really love the relaxing music you guys have put on here, a lot of kids these days listen to trash to stand out and be different or because their going through weird feelings about their identity, feelings about life and whatnot. One of my old child hood best friends showed me his favorite music nowadays and it was awful, just terrible lol. It was screamo, and to be honest I like screamo-- when its done right ha enough said about that.. Thanks for not being totally into mainstream media as well that stuff gets irritating cause I get the whole bandwagon feel from people who listen to stuff just because a lot of others do, don't get me wrong some songs are popular because their actually good but yea.

Anyways I propose to you, that we should have individual posts covering our top favorite artists as the topic starters and we enjoy, discuss their music again if already posted here on these new topics, but since their our favorites they would gain much deserved attention and position as topic starters. :D I'll start some new topics with some artists already previously listed in this thread so you guys can enjoy them again in their own topic. Do post yours, as I can't wait to enjoy your favorites again as well.

Nujabes has got a genre of his own there. Don't quite like his pieces outside, but I really like his pieces in Samurai Champloo.

I'm too tired of mainstream songs. It's almost all the same to me now, they just sing about the same things over and over again, and rant on the same things repeatedly. It's... shallow. There's no message in the songs anymore. So that's when I found all these.

Hmm... We can do that, but I don't favor many artists though. I'm there for the music. The artists come much later than the music for me. If the music has good message hidden behind it, the artist will most likely be someone that I might actually like.

Hum, being oddballs, relative regarding in which society or social group, because on lots of stuff one is in the mainstream or fits under a category or an stereotype, or maybe the mainstream between the oddballs of a certain class =O, well, everyone has his ways onto how to develop his tastes, in the end everything we listen to, watch or taste? XD, came because of our rapport with the society in any way or in any corner, so for me if it's accepted or concurred by a group of people, it's a kind of mainstream to me, it may not be inside the global or national acceptance but it's still a social current (of course not to a great level, thus being oddballs on some aspects and situations). I don't believe the mainstream is necessarily bad, unless it does harm in any way to a living being, like some auto destructive social trend, just taking example of an extreme situation, along those lines I don't feel it's correct to disregard other people or tastes for being a special kind of oddballness (that is not a word I think XP), or for being in the mainstream, of course one may dislike those tastes and be against some opinions with no problem, as long as there is respect and good-stable coexistence.

Hum, maybe I went too far with those thoughts of mine, just to get clear, I didn't thought badly about any opinion posted here, your that these thoughts aroused inspired by those =P.

Hum, I think it isn't practical, a thread of every favorite artist and in some cases I just have 1 or 2 song from a group or person; but what interest me in how to classify the music is regarding the kind of emotion, reaction or state it may arouse, currently that is how I mostly arrange my music and by the genre (not over specifically), like if it's just instrumentals, or some type of music in specific, and coming back at the classifying I said I used, I mostly arrange it for example: relax (music that quiets the mind, it can be happy, not so energetic, or sad even depressing, mostly instrumentals); energetic or power up music (any genre that I like that makes my blood boil and burst up in energy, instrumental or vocal, an example is eye of the tiger or the last 2 songs I posted), in my case I have some electronic music in here, but it wears me down, still I agree that electronic music can be a powerful way to be active, like when they use it on exercises, still I'm talking too about the uplifting music on an emotional level, I appreciate more this latter (and can be an electronic too); and I have too another category for music that I would use for exercising, as that is the goal there can be any music even electronic that can keeps me going and that doesn't gets me distracted on beautiful melodies (some help too in this regard).

So I end my opinion, and it may be noted that I don't have a varied categorization but that is how I have it right now, just an opinion on arranging the music. Now my music posts!, today we have:
